About the Role


We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering secure, scalable applications for government and public sector clients.
In this role, you'll be hands-on with development while also mentoring junior team members, contributing to solution design, and collaborating with multidisciplinary colleagues including project managers, business analysts, cybersecurity specialists, and DevOps engineers.
Your day will include coding, code reviews, and solution architecture, alongside sprint planning, stakeholder workshops, and technical briefings. Projects may involve digital identity solutions, data integration platforms, and large-scale web applications, with a strong emphasis on compliance and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the software development lifecycle from requirements through to deployment
  • Design and implement robust Java solutions using Spring Boot
  • Mentor and support other engineers to foster team growth
  • Execute deployments, troubleshoot issues, and maintain documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality outcomes

Technical Skills Required

  • Java 8+ (Java 11/17 advantageous)
  • Spring (Boot, Data, REST), J2EE, Hibernate, SOAP
  • SQL, Oracle databases
  • ReactJS, JavaScript, cloud technologies
  • Strong understanding of systems integration and web services
  • Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodology and release/change management


Desirable:

  • Experience with configuration management tools and practices
  • Exposure to government or large-scale enterprise environments
