Based in the WA, our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with experience working on Defence simulation systems to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will join an industry leader in providing ground-breaking technology to the Defence and will be working on exciting & high-profile projects. The systems they create are highly technical in nature incorporating a variety of designed, tested, and manufactured inhouse systems. These systems are designed to carry the attributes required for the end user. These systems are exported worldwide and are created to be adapted to a customer's requirements including their environment.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and guidance in developing and delivering high level designs for simulation systems at the concept and design phases.

The Role:

  • Setting the technical direction, defining and prioritising the development of the technical project elements.
  • Providing relevant technical and domain knowledge through mentoring of the broader technical and software/hardware development teams.
  • Plan and implement test plans for functional test and reliability.
  • Provide relationship management and technical program guidance to external design partners and suppliers.
  • Generate design documents for regulatory submissions.
  • Contribute to development program project schedules and budgets.
  • Ensure engineering standards of quality, cost, safety, timeliness, and performance are observed.

Experience required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or Engineering
  • Understanding of Defence simulation systems
  • Experience in authoring systems engineering document sets.
  • Industry experience in technical leadership and development of engineering acquisition solutions.
  • Experience in systems requirements analysis and development

Due to the nature of this role candidate will require to hold Australian citizenship and hold a current AGSVA clearance ideally NV1.
