Technical Project Manager

Our client is at the forefront of modern-day technology for design, develop and maintainability within the Defence sector, they are growing rapidly with new work and existing projects. They are currently in need of experienced Project Manager who has exposure to defence programs/projects who is looking to demonstrate their proven background on a new and state of the art project.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and a firm understanding of Defence procurement (ASDEFCON). This is a full-time position based in Mentone, due to the nature of this project candidates will require a Baseline clearance.

The Role:

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables and success criteria in alignment with project objectives
• Develop detailed project plans, including resource requirements, budgets, timelines, risk assessments and compliance milestones
• Work within government procurement process such as ASDEFCON
• Manage key stakeholder relationships
• Ensure that project deliverables meet contract specifications, quality standards and applicable standards (MILSTD, DEF(AUST), ADR, AS/NZS, etc)
• Prepare and / or review input for tender/RFQ/RFI responses
• Support, maintain & encourage the involved team including operational & engineering team members

Experience Required:

• Minimum 7 years as a Project Manager or similar within Defence
• Experience in Risk Management
• Demonstrated technical background, Engineering degree highly desirable
• Tertiary or vocational qualifications in project or business management or
• An understanding of engineering processes
• Experience with ASDEFCON
• Previous experience working within a Defence technical domain
