End User Support Engineer | Canberra | 6-Month Contract


Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a leading IT advisory delivering secure, high-quality end-user and infrastructure support services to Federal Government clients. We're seeking an experienced Tech Bar / Onsite End User Support Engineer for a 6-month contract starting September, based in Canberra.


About the Role


You will provide Level 2 onsite support across a range of hardware, software, and network issues. This role involves diagnosing and resolving technical incidents, supporting end-user devices, and maintaining a high level of customer service while ensuring technical standards are met.


Key Responsibilities


  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve Level 2 incidents and requests across hardware, software, and network issues.

  • Document all interactions, solutions, and outcomes in the ITSM ticketing system (ServiceNow).

  • Escalate complex problems to Level 3 teams following established protocols.

  • Contribute to the internal knowledge base by documenting fixes for recurring issues.

  • Build, patch, and support end-user devices (laptops, mobiles, printers/MFDs, and video conferencing).

  • Perform patching of laptops, desktops, and user applications.

Technical Expertise


  • Proficient in troubleshooting network, hardware, and software issues.

  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory / EntraID and Windows 11 environments.

  • Experience supporting and repairing hardware, including printers, laptops, and Apple devices.

  • Familiarity with desktop patching and device lifecycle management.

  • Previous experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow preferred).

What We're Looking For


  • Proven background in end-user support or desktop support roles within enterprise or government environments.

  • NV1 or higher security clearance (mandatory).

  • Ability to work on-site in Canberra.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.
