Job Description

We are seeking a highly capable Security Analyst to support a high-profile Federal Government program based in Canberra. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in cyber security operations, incident response, and threat analysis. You will be working in a secure, fast-paced environment, contributing to the protection of critical national infrastructure.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct threat-driven analysis of system security
  • Monitor and analyse security events and incidents
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans and playbooks
  • Identify and assess vulnerabilities, recommending mitigation strategies
  • Review and enhance existing security controls
  • Provide guidance to technical teams on implementing security measures
  • Develop procedures for continuous monitoring and analysis of security data

Education/Certifications Required

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly regarded

Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Demonstrated experience working in a Security Operations Centre (SOC)
  • Proficiency with tools such as Splunk Enterprise Security, SaaS security platforms, and Network Detection and Response (NDR) systems
  • Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) platforms
  • Strong incident response and threat analysis capabilities
  • Familiarity with Australian Government security frameworks and compliance standards
