About the Agency

You'll be working with a national security agency within the Department of Defence that operates at the front line of protecting Australia from global threats. This team delivers foreign signals intelligence, cyber defence, and offensive cyber operations. It plays a vital role in safeguarding critical government systems and supporting Australia's strategic interests.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join a high-security program supporting secure ICT systems and mobility for senior government officials. You'll work on mission-critical infrastructure that underpins national-level decision-making.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the design, build, testing and operation of network services in a multi-vendor environment.

• Expand and maintain gateway infrastructure and secure cloud-based services.

• Implement, configure and maintain switches, routers, and firewalls.

• Automate network functions using Infrastructure as Code.

• Assist in building out secure, scalable mobility and communications systems.

• Support monitoring systems and contribute to compliance and security standards.

What You'll Need

• Active TSPV clearance (no exceptions)

• Experience working with gateway environments in highly secure systems

• Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, cloud, and automation

• Ability to lead projects and work under broad direction in a complex, fast-paced environment

Working Conditions

• Onsite in Canberra only - WFH and interstate candidates cannot be accommodated

• An Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) must be completed before starting

• Max of 40 hours/week, up to 1920 hours per 12-month period
