Wintel Engineer | Defence Program | NV2 Cleared | Sydney

Cleared Recruitment is working with a leading global IT services provider supporting major Defence infrastructure program based in Sydney.

We're on the lookout for an NV2-cleared Wintel Engineer to step into a critical role managing secure on-prem infrastructure and defence-specific applications.

This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about working in high-security environments, with strong hands-on Windows server experience and a proactive approach to improving system performance and service delivery.

Since this role is within Defence, only Australian Citizens with an active NV2 security clearance are eligible to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Maintain, monitor, and provide ongoing support across Windows-based infrastructure
• 
  Administer and troubleshoot key services: AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, WSUS
• 
  Support virtualisation platforms including Hyper-V, SC-VMM, and clustering
• 
  Contribute to system upgrades, patching, automation and change control processes
• 
  Support disaster recovery planning and backups using tools such as NetBackup
• 
  Implement service improvements and help drive technical documentation
• 
  Manage server hardware, rack configuration, and local power infrastructure
• 
  Escalate and resolve complex technical issues and contribute to service SLAs

Required Skills & Experience:

• 
  Solid Windows Server admin skills - installation, configuration, and fault resolution
• 
  Strong understanding of core services: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
• 
  Experience with Hyper-V, clustering, and load balancing (e.g., Kemp)
• 
  Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage and RAID configurations
• 
  PowerShell scripting for automation of admin tasks
• 
  Exposure to backup/recovery frameworks and disaster recovery tools
• 
  Confident supporting both on-prem physical hardware and virtual environments
• 
  Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and time management abilities
• 
  Background supporting Defence or Government highly desirable

  Active NV2 Security Clearance (Essential)
